Sorry for the lack of updates the past week, I’ll try to get back on track. I’ve been really busy practicing for the Big 20.
But I’ve got a lot more going on too:
What’s the Status?
This past week I’ve been diving heavily into fiction writing for kindle direct publishing. I’ve published before so I know the ins and outs, but I need to get back into the habit of writing consistently every day and really upping the word count.
Right now I’m around 3,000 words in a day when I sit down and really get into it. That’s in about 2 hours, but in all honesty it takes me about 2 hours to really get my brain focused and launched into that writing spree as well.
Organization and Structure
I’ve been really focusing on how I organize my stories this time around, as I might be turning a few of them into longer series and collections down the road.
But why would I want to do that?
Simply put, for consistency. I’ll write a post here in the future about how I handle it, but it’s nice to be able to quickly see what chapters different events occurred in.
To be able to quickly see things that have happened to a character or a setting.
- Did the barn burn down in chapter 2?
- Does Samuel have the scar on his left eye or his right?
- Felicia swore off alcohol, but was that before or after the turkey fiasco?
- Wasn’t there an owner of the bar that knew something about the murders?
- Was the Oracle Fellowship dealt with during Chapter 4 or was that romance subplot?
Things like that, see?
I’ve still been steadily streaming, AND working on my networking skills. I really do enjoy the entire twitch community of streamers and viewers so I’ve kept my head pretty deep in the community for a while now and would like to continue that.
I’ve been streaming my Big 20 practice lately, which I get pretty salty during. It can be frustrating to die twenty times in a row to the final boss of Choujin Sentai Jetman.
If you take a peek at my Instagram you’ll see that I’ve been playing a lot more with markers and inks together instead of doing digital coloring. I like how it looks. Almost like something you’d see in a children’s book.
I’m going to keep at it each day and see where it takes me.
Maybe when i’m done with Big20 I’ll get back into programming, but right now that’s definitely on the back burner.
Today I’m going to produce and publish a beginner contact juggling tutorial, the first of a series. I figure I can knock them out with low editing and no bullshit to get them out pretty quick.
Anyways, I’ve got to go drop the kid off at the bus before it’s too late, so I’ll catch everyone later.
